Idyllically set up a private, chestnut tree lined lane, West Standen Farm offers 2 barns converted to a high standard (one was once a 17th century building which was converted into a carriage house in 1840 and the other was a stone stable dating back over 200 years). The Stable
The Stable dates back over 200 years and is built with stone from the surrounding downland - Standen means hill of stone. Set on three levels, taking in the cartshed and the hay loft, it provides the main hallway, a large double bedroom with ensuite shower room, a bedroom with bunks with a bathroom adjacent and a utility room containing a washing machine and tumble dryer. A stairway takes you up to the loft with its vaulted ceiling and 2 twin bedded rooms and a shower room and toilet. Stairs at the opposite
end lead down from the stable to the cartshed, where you will find the
spacious living area comprising of a lounge, dining and kitchen area.
There are doors leading out onto the patio and a good sized enclosed garden. |

Carriage House
The Carriage House is a 17th century building which was converted into a carriage house in 1840. It has now been tastefully transformed into a 3 bedroom holiday home which sleeps 6. The main hallway has steps leading you into the living area which is comprised of a lounge, kitchen and dining area. From here there is easy access out to the walled patio. There is a separate toilet off the hallway. Use of washing machine and tumble dryer on request. The stairway from the hall leads you to the three bedrooms (a double bedroom with ensuite shower, a twin bedded, hipped ceiling room and a bedroom with bunks) and the bathroom (with shower). A back door off the hallway leads to the large walled private garden with paved area and bar-b-que.

Travel Cot and Highchair available on request The two self catering barns on our working grassland farm are idyllically set into the side of St.Georges Down, enjoying rural views and are surrounded by mature trees with an abundance of wildlife and farm animals. Newly renovated, these Victorian barns provide space and comfort in a unique setting. Less than a mile from the County town of Newport, the barns allow easy access to all parts of the Island Please note: In the interest of people with Asthma and Allergies, we request that guests refrain from smoking inside the Carriage House and The Stable. |
