The Bembridge Trail

Walking HomeWalking Events | Signposted Trails | The Coastal Path

This trail starts at Bembridge Point on the southern side of Bembridge harbour and climbs through the fields to Bembridge Windmill. This was built in about 1700 and has been restored and is open to the public. The trail then crosses the marshes in the Yar valley to Brading before climbing onto the chalk downs with wonderful views across Sandown Bay and the Arreton Valley. The trail then drops towards the village of Newchurch and follows along beside the downs to Arreton, before climbing again onto St George's Down then descending to Shide and along the river into Newport.

Total distance about 15 miles (25 km).
