Welcome to The Hillside
Step in from the garden and enter the conservatory, where soft and bright cane chairs and varied foliage add to visual pleasure, whether shrouded in rolling mist or bathed in glorious sunshine with lovely sea views.
Peace may be found in the lounge, with its deep, inviting chairs and warming fire, perfect for quiet solitude or easy relaxation. Light and airy, the dining room invites informality but is not without ceremony. Meals may be enjoyed leisurely, at separate tables and special care is taken to ensure that both breakfast and the five course evening dinner are a delight for all. Complete privacy can be enjoyed in each of the guest bedrooms, each comfortably furnished, each with its ensuite bathroom and each quite different from any other bedroom. It is our constant desire to create rooms that are interesting, original and a pleasure to relax in.
Charles Dickens , William Thackeray and Thomas Carlisle all enjoyed the warmth of Hillside's hospitality and tranquility of its position, whilst remaining comfortably close to town, esplanade and beach. There is ample parking and bus stops close by. Ferry crossings from the mainland can be arranged at competitive rates. Dogs are most welcome and we specialise in walking holidays via our Wight Merit Group.
