The Montpelier is a small family run Bed and Breakfast offering great value accommodation and is situated in one of the finest positions in Sandown, opposite the glorious sandy beach and Sandown Pier.
We have 8 letting rooms, nearly all with sea views, comprising of doubles, twins, a single and family rooms, including one very spacious, two rooms apartment so the kids aren't under your feet. They are all en-suite. All rooms have a colour TV, table and chairs, fridge, alarm clock/radio, tea/coffee making facilities and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.
We offer Room Only, Bed and Breakfast and Ferry Inclusive packages.
The Montpelier garden may only be small but it's probably one of the most photographed and complimented gardens on the Island.
It has won the Sandown in Bloom competition for best sea front garden in 1998, joint first in 1999, first in 2000 along with first in Wight in Bloom, first again in 2001 in both Sandown and Wight in Bloom, only second in 2002 (fixed 1st was judges friend) and then back to first in 2003 for Sandown in bloom and a trophy for most consistent winner as well. First place 2004 & 2005. First place in Sandown in Bloom 2010 and over all winner as well. 2011 1st in Sandown in Bloom and over all winner again.
Sandown Bay is a regular holder of the UK sunshine record and the Blue Ribbon award making it one of the cleanest beaches in the UK. Long walks can be enjoyed from the Montpelier, along coastal paths or into the countryside, where there are over 500 miles of clearly marked walks.
