The Isle of Wight Traction Engine Club held the first Memorial Ploughing Match at Mottistone Manor Farm by kind permission of Todd and Jackie Carder on Sunday 5th April 2009. The event was organised to remember four members who sadly all passed away in 2008, all keen ploughman.

Walk The Wight 2015

From humble beginnings in 1991, Walk the Wight is now regarded as the largest annual fund-raising event on the Island. Every year, thousands of walkers journey from one end of the Island to the other in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. With several walks to choose from, this event is accessible to all, whether you are an experienced hiker or looking for a fun-filled family day out.


Wolverton Folk and Blues Fair

The fifth annual Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair will take place in the stunning grounds of Wolverton Manor, Shorwell, IW on Saturday 16th May 2015. 11.30am to 8.00pm

After a sell-out successful launch in 2011, the festival has been gaining momentum with fantastic bands/artists each year along with locally produced food, children's activities, tea tent and not forgetting the Real Ale tent!

Very pleased to announce our very special guest at Wolverton Folk & Blues this year...DAVE KELLY

One of the very best blues vocalists and slide guitarists this country has ever produced, Dave is well known for his 20+ years with The Blues Band with umpteen band albums and almost as many solo albums to his name. From the beginning, he's played with some of the greatest blues artists in the world – Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Son House & Buddy Guy. He's had his own Dave Kelly Band on and off, for over 20 years as well as performing solo and touring an acoustic blues duo show with Paul Jones – this man simply lives and loves the blues and will be appearing at Wolverton on his UK Solo tour.

With an IW real ale beer tent, BBQ, Tea Tent, children's activities, Circus Skills and Morris Dancing, The Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair looks set to be a great opportunity to enjoy top live music and great festival food, set against the backdrop of the beautiful West Wight scenery.

In aid of Leukaemia Research and Brighstone School.

Festival of Transport

Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival

Isle of Wight Music Festival

Newports Seaclose Park is transformed every year into the biggest event on the Isle of Wight. Festival of the sea

The Isle of Wight Festival of the Sea will take place across the Island over seven days in June. The Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society County Show

JP Morgan Fleming Round the Island Yacht Race

Round the Island race sets sail from Cowes and races around the Island and back to the start line, where over 1,700 boats take part. You can catch the race from most coastal places, but some great local spots can be found at Fort Victoria in Yarmouth or Ventnor Seafront.

Wolverton Manor Garden Fair
