Walk The Wight 2013

From humble beginnings in 1991, Walk the Wight is now regarded as the largest annual fund-raising event on the Island. Every year, thousands of walkers journey from one end of the Island to the other in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. With several walks to choose from, this event is accessible to all, whether you are an experience hiker or looking for a fun-filled family day out.

Wolverton Folk and Blues Fair

Wolverton Manor, Shorwell will once again provide the stunning backdrop to this exciting Island event. The Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair will take place on Saturday 18th May 2013, raising money for Leukaemia Research and Brighstone School. The live music stage will provide a full programme, featuring the best of the Island’s Folk & Blues musicians, from solo acoustic to full electric bands. The line-up includes The Sail Pattern, The Wild Oats, The MoonShiners, Holly Kirby, Nick Cane Band, Laurie McVay & Tony Farinha, The Herd and Clive Thomas with more to be confirmed.
This family friendly event will include tented cafes, serving an interesting variety of freshly cooked local produce. With an IW real ale beer tent, BBQ, Tea tent serving teas & cakes, plus children’s activities, and even Circus Skills and Zumba workshops, The Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair looks set to be a celebration of all that’s good about our Island’s local food & music talent.
With limited numbers, it is advisable to buy tickets in advance.
