Totland

Totland BayTotland is the Western most village on the on the north coast. It lies on the outskirts of Freshwater and due to the growth in population in the West Wight the two now meet. Totland with its similar architecture grew from mainland visitors building holiday mansions here as their healthy seaside retreats. It is now however populated by "island" people and has schools, churches and a few shops. Totland beach is still very popular and is especially safe for children. There is a cafe for ice creams and a waterfront restaurant on the seafront. If you walk in a northerly direction there is a coastal walk which takes you round to Colwell Bay.

On the outskirts of Totland to the west is Headen Warren a beautiful area for walking giving you splendid views of The Solent, Alum Bay and the Needles. See our walks section for a photograph.
