Parkhurst

Lying on the main road from Cowes to Newport, it is famous for the notorious Parkhurst Prison. There are now two other prisons here, Albany and Camp Hill, and most of the local housing are estates for the prison staff.

Adjacent to the prisons is Parkhurst Forest, the largest woodland area on the island. It has many walks through it and if you are fortunate you may see a Red Squirrel.
