Colwell Bay
Compared to the larger tourist resorts along the East coast of the Island Colwell Bay is small and quiet but it does have its far share of visitors. Colwell won a Solent water award in 1998 and the water here is shallow and warm making it perfect for swimming. The beach itself is sandy and has a promenade from which visitors can take a relaxing walk to Totland.
The facilities here include a cafe, a gift/ice-cream shop and pedilo, canoe and wind surf hire. There are toliets and parking as well as a bed and breakfast. A visit to this beach would make a relaxing family day out but be aware that when the tide is high there is very little beach.
No dogs are allowed on the beach.
